Episode Recap
The Wagon Wheel, later renamed to The Pour Station, was a Cleveland, Texas (Houston) bar that was featured on Season 9 of Bar Rescue.
Though the Pour Station Bar Rescue episode aired in July 2024, the actual filming and visit from Bar Rescue took place before that in April 2024.
It was Season 9 Episode 21 and the episode name was “Till the Wagon Wheels Fall Off”.
In this episode, Jon Taffer is MIA again, unfortunately.
Instead, Danny Trejo and Phil Wills are teaming up again to save another Houston area bar.
This time, Danny and Phil are headed to The Wagon Wheel in Cleveland, TX (not Ohio!).
If you’re not familiar with Texas geography, Cleveland is near Houston.
This makes sense because Phil and Danny just rescued another Houston bar in the previous episode of this season.
The Wagon Wheel is owned by two friends.
However, as is often the case, the stress of running the business is causing issues with their friendship.
So not only is there a chance of the business failing, but their friendship might fail, as well.
When the spies recon the bar, they have a really bad experience.
The owner comes off poorly and they’re also sitting under a dusty fan, which is a bit gross.
The spies’ drinks are also gross, described as sugar water.
And to make matters even worse, there’s a cockroach running around on the floor.
While that’s going on, Phil and Danny pretty much look on in horror.
That’s it for the episode recap as I’m writing this the day before the episode airs.
However, I do know what Phil and Danny did to the bar.
As part of the renovations, they changed the name from The Wagon Wheel to The Pour Station.
What do you think about the new name? Let me know in the comments below.
Personally, I think it’s fine, though not especially original, but I’m interested to hear what you think about it.
So – was the Wagon Wheel Bar Rescue visit a long-term success?
Keep reading my full update to learn what happened next and if this Cleveland, TX bar is still open in 2024.
The Pour Station Update - What Happened Next?
Now that I’ve recapped Phil and Danny’s visit to the bar, let’s talk about what happened after the duo left Cleveland Texas.
I’ll start by talking about whether The Pour Station is still open, along with whether or not they’ve kept the concept from Phil and Danny.
Then, I’ll take a look at some real customer reviews from after the Bar Rescue visit, including whether people seem to like the changes or not.
Let’s get into it…
Is The Pour Station still open after Bar Rescue?
As of my most recent check in 2024, the bar is still open and serving customers in Cleveland, TX.
However, they seem to have mostly gone back to using the original The Wagon Wheel name, rather than the Pour Station name that Phil and Danny gave the bar.
All of the recent posts on Facebook refer to it exclusively as The Wagon Wheel.
I do still see signage for The Pour Station in the background of some pictures at the bar, but all of the posts only call it The Wagon Wheel.
Based on that, I’m going to assume that they’ve mostly decided to ditch the name and concept from the show.
The bar is very active on its Facebook page, where it regularly posts about events and specials at the bar.
First off, the bar heavily promoted its Bar Rescue episode, which is usually a good sign that they had a somewhat positive experience.
Beyond that, they seem to have regular live music and DJs, such as this live music act.
They also have “Singo” every Wednesday night, which seems like Bingo combined with singing.
Sounds interesting!
They also host other events, such as a darts tournament every Monday.
Overall, there seems to be a lot going on at the bar, which is usually a good sign when it comes to longevity.
The Pour Station reviews after Bar Rescue
Next, let’s take a look at some reviews of the bar that were written after the bar was rescued by Danny and Phil.
Overall, the bar has a 4.5 star rating on Yelp and a 4.3 star rating on Google, which is actually quite good.
Both of those numbers include reviews from both before and after the episode, though.
As always, I try to exclusively focus on reviews that were written after the bar was rescued.
I would say that the reviews are generally positive, though there are a decent number of negative reviews mixed in.
It’s hard to get any real conclusions.
For example, some people praise the food, while other people criticize it.
Final thoughts on the episode
Overall, the bar seems to be doing well after the visit from Danny and Phil.
However, they seem to have ditched the new The Pour Station name and gone back to using the original The Wagon Wheel name.
I do still see Pour Station signage in a few spots, but most posts and content now exclusively refers to the bar as The Wagon Wheel.
That wraps up my The Pour Station Bar Rescue update.
