Episode Recap
VFW Post 8093 was a DeBary, Florida bar that was featured on Season 10 of Bar Rescue.
Though the VFW Post 8093 Bar Rescue episode aired in April 2026, the actual filming and visit from Jon Taffer took place in mid 2025.
It was Season 10 Episode 10 and the episode name was “Broken Chains of Command”.
In this week’s episode, Taffer is rescuing another VFW Post.
This marks the fifth time that Taffer has rescued a VFW Post as part of the show.
I’m not sure why this episode is airing in April, as Bar Rescue usually airs these on Memorial Day weekend (which is in late May).
Maybe this season won’t last all the way until late May?
I’m not sure.
Anyway, I do know that Taffer is back in Florida to rescue VFW Post 8093.
This post is located in DeBary, Florida.
If you’re not familiar with Florida geography, DeBary is located just to the north of Orlando.
It has a population of around 22,000 people, but it’s part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach, FL metropolitan.
As with other VFW Post rescues, this one obviously isn’t as focused on the business side of things.
Nor is there any rebranding or renovation…because you can’t really change the name of the VFW Post.
For that reason, I’m not going to add a detailed recap here, and this post will generally be less detailed than the updates that I publish for commercial bars.
VFW Post 8093 Update - What Happened Next?
Now, let’s do a quick rundown of whether VFW Post 8093.
For this one, I’ll just talk about whether or not it’s still open.
Normally, I dig into customer reviews and stuff.
However, because this is a VFW post and not a commercial business, I don’t think that reviews are very relevant.
Is VFW Post 8093 still open after Bar Rescue?
As of my most recent check, VFW Post 9093 is still open and serving veteran’s in DeBary, Florida.
The post has its own website which shares information.
It’s open seven days a week from 11:30 AM to 10 PM.
The post also has a Facebook page that it posts on.
It also hosted a watch party for the Bar Rescue episode, which is cool to see.
I’m not sure where they got that picture of Taffer from – he looks 15 years younger in their promo image haha.
The post also has other events, such as karaoke on Tuesday nights.
Here’s what the VFW Post 8093 location looks like in the most recent picture from Google Maps street view:
Final thoughts on the episode
Personally, I never find these VFW rescues to be as fun as the normal episodes for commercial bars.
However, I do think that Taffer is doing a valuable thing for the community, so it’s nice for the show to do from that perspective.
So far, VFW Post 8093 is still open and serving the veteran’s community in DeBary, Florida.
I hope that it’s able to contain doing so for a long time.

Unless you know differently, I think the season will end with episode 12 on May 3. That would be 4 episodes per set (Nashville-Bowling Green, Orlando-Melbourne, Atlanta). According to the press release, these are the states advertised for this season.
Next week’s episode in Mt. Dora (closed) is the only place that has had filming leaks; it shows as production number 1001; 1008 (presumed Atlanta) would fill out the 12 on May 3.
Last season, 5 bars per set was more typical with the guest hosts.
On SM, Taffer had stated that season 10 was completely filmed last year, hence they would need a new contract in such to start filming for a season 11, unless he was making the usual fallacy of referring to the portion of a season showing in a calendar year as a season.
To my knowledge, there is no filming taking place for episodes to end next year. My feeling is that this is the end.
Long way of explaining why I think this one isn’t waiting until Memorial Day.
Episode 12 will be Havana Haven which changed to Bimini Bay in Powder Springs, GA (outside of Atlanta). ACity Discount (looks like a restaurant supply company) put behind-the-scenes pics on their social media for the Atlanta area bars that they helped with. They noted that this one was their final collab. Since the production code is 1008, that would put the Atlanta area bars at 1005-1008 so yeah, 4 bars per set.
The Atlanta set was filmed May-June last year. Since we don’t see any leaks of recent shooting and haven’t heard of season 10 being extended or season 11 being ordered, it could be the end.
If so, too bad, Ozempic Taffer returned to form this season. More on the bar science and extreme reactions.
They took away the experts’ intro’s this season, though.
Mia and Phil conspicuously absent from this season so far.
How is VFfW Post 8093 doing financially now? Are they costing out food and reflecting that on menu prices?
I’ve been watching BR forever. I record each episode. I think the program of Post 8093 in Florida was the best BR program ever. Thanks.
It was heartwarming.
Thing about these VFW’s is that I kinda wonder how any of them stay open at all. Growing up, I saw them as smoke-filled venues for Vietnam vets to hang out at. I even worked at one. Nowadays, it seems like we have fewer veterans of foreign wars, and they almost universally seem to say that the younger vets don’t want to go to them.
Revenue seems to come from renting out the banquet/reception space, but on the other days, I don’t know how you get volunteers to show up and work without pay, let alone the people managing the place for free.
I wonder why he picked VFW’s and not American Legion(s)?
that promo poster is definitely AI haha 😅
