Episode Recap
Havana Haven Lounge, later renamed to Bimini Bay Island Bar & Grille, was a Powder Springs (Atlanta), Georgia bar that was featured on Season 10 of Bar Rescue.
Though the Bimini Bay Bar Rescue episode aired in May 2026, the actual filming and visit from Bar Rescue took place before that in mid 2025.
It was Season 10 Episode 12 and the episode name was “Havana Rough Time”.
In what is the last episode of this season/set (and maybe the show? Hopefully not), Jon Taffer and the Bar Rescue crew are back in the Atlanta area.
More specifically, they’re in Powder Springs, Georgia, which is a suburb of Atlanta.
This marks the show’s 8th visit to the state of Georgia, most of which have happened in recent seasons (and all of which are located in Atlanta or its suburbs).
One of the first Taffer’s Taverns was located in Atlanta, so I think Jon Taffer likes working in that area.
This time, he’s in town to rescue a bar named Havana Haven Lounge, which is owned by a husband and wife duo named Edward and Cassandra.
As you can probably guess from the name, it’s a Cuban-inspired cigar bar.
This is causing massive issues for the bar because of a recent city-wide smoking ban that throws the bar’s entire concept into jeopardy.
Now, the owners are in deep debt and the bar is just a few weeks from closing, so Taffer definitely has his work cut out for him.
However, it seems like the city-wide smoking ban is not the only problem at Havana Haven.
When Taffer watches the chef prepping food, the chef just throws a piece of frozen salmon on the grill, which is not ideal.
It’s just going to create gross, soggy salmon because the salmon wasn’t thawed before going on the grill.
Though, I will say it’s better than using rotten salmon, which is something you’d normally see on Bar Rescue.
There are other issues. For example, the chef is using the handwashing sink to wash chicken.
There are also operational problems.
There’s no ticket line, with tickets just falling into a box. That might explain why service is so slow at the bar.
While all of this is happening, Edward, one of the owners, seems to be just sitting on his phone while he lets his wife handle everything else.
When the spy finally gets her salmon, she does not seem to be happy with it.
Taffer says that “the food is horrible” and “the bar is horrible”, which obviously isn’t a great sign.
When Taffer sees enough, he decides to go in and rip Edward a new one.
As always, I’m writing this recap the day before the episode airs on TV, so I don’t have any more detailed information to share about the rescue.
However, my research was able to discover the new name and concept that Taffer put in.
As part of the renovations, he changed the bar’s name from Havana Haven Lounge to Bimini Bay Island Bar & Grille.
So – was the Havana Haven Bar Rescue visit a long-term success?
Keep reading my update to learn what happened next and if this Powder Springs, GA bar is still open in 2026.
Bimini Bay Island Bar & Grille Update - What Happened Next?
Now that I’ve recapped the episode as much as possible, let’s talk about how the newly named Bimini Bay Island Bar is doing after Jon Taffer and his crew left Georgia.
I’ll start by talking about whether or not Bimini Bay is still open and using the concept that Taffer put in.
Then, I’ll take a look at any real customer reviews that I was able to find.
Along the way, I’ll share any other interesting information that I discover.
Let’s get into it…
Is Bimini Bay still open after Bar Rescue?
Unfortunately, Bimini Bay closed for good in October 2025.
This means that the bar closed well before its episode aired on TV.
As far as I can tell, the bar did not post any type of announcement or reason for the closure.
Instead, it just stopped posting on its profiles around October 2025.
This is something that doesn’t usually happen (though it’s certainly happened before), so Bimini Bay was definitely not a successful rescue.
Bimini Bay is also marked as permanently closed on Google:
Weirdly, the bar also posted about hiring bartenders and servers in early October, just a few weeks before they closed.
So, it kind of seems like they weren’t expected to close so soon (though I don’t have any solid information about that).
Prior to its abrupt closure in October 2025, it does seem like the bar had been continuing to use the new Bimini Bay Island Bar concept from Jon Taffer.
The bar also seemed to be pretty active on social media, including a lot of the regular events that you would expect from a bar.
For example, they seemed to have karaoke nights on Thursdays:
They also had comedy showcase nights sometimes.
The official Bimini Bay website is also still active for some reason.
Here’s a screenshot of the bar’s menu to give you an idea of its prices before it closed.
It actually seems pretty cheap – you could get the Bimini Burger for just $8.
Here’s what the Bimini Bay location looks like in the most recent picture from Google Maps street view…
Google last updated the image in March 2025, so it still shows the old Havana Haven branding (you can just see it poking through the trees if you zoom in).
Bimini Bay reviews after Bar Rescue
Next, let’s take a look at some real customer reviews of Bimini Bay from after Jon Taffer rescued it.
Because the bar closed a few months after the rescue, there aren’t a ton of reviews to look at.
Overall, the bar has a 4.2 star rating on 89 Google reviews, with no Yelp reviews.
However, those ratings include reviews from the bar’s entire history, including both before and after Taffer’s rescue.
There are only a few reviews from after Taffer’s rescue, but those reviews seem mixed, with some positive and some negative.
For example, one person complained about the price of things and said that they were charged $3 just for a glass of water, which is pretty lame.
Given that the bar ended up closing shortly thereafter, that’s probably not a surprise.
Final thoughts on the episode
During the episode, Jon Taffer rebranded the bar from Havana Haven Lounge to Bimini Bay Island Bar & Grille, which seemed like a positive change.
Unfortunately, the rescue was not able to help the bar achieve long-term success.
Bimini Bay closed its doors for good in October 2025, which is around four months after the visit from Jon Taffer but around seven months before its episode aired on TV.
This puts it in the not-so-illustrious category of bars that weren’t even able to stay open for their episode to air on TV.
Given that this is the last episode of the season (and possibly the show, though that’s not confirmed), it’s a bummer to see Taffer go out on a losing note.
That wraps up my Bimini Bay Bar Rescue update.

You can’t rescue a bar when the owners are dumb as dirt… I have no idea what bank would give these owners a loan after meeting them.. the second they spoke I knew this was a never going to be saved…
I don’t understand why people seem to think it is so easy to run a bar or restaurant. The owner and his ex-wife had the restaurant for well over a year and it seemed liked they should never have gone in business, especially when Edward clearly didn’t read you can’t open a cigar bar. I’ve watched almost all episodes of BR and don’t recall ever hearing of a bar losing $25000 (!!!) a month. That is beyond absurd. I would’ve taken the rescue and sold the place.
looking this up, there is a bar in FL with the same name. mayne a trademark issue
I don’t think that would be it. Florida is a different state and Bimini Bay is an existing location. There would be no risk of confusing them. Think of how many identically named bars there are across the USA in different places. E.g. Corner Bar, The Spot, The Pour House, etc.
who told you the season is ending
Taffer posted it on all his socials along with the episode preview. “I’m in Georgia today on the #BarRescue season finale! Watch the preview now and don’t miss it”.
I’m not sure if they posted on the official Bar Rescue pages.
Late last year, Jon posted that season 10 filming had been complete, and he referred to this as a season finale. My feeling is that this was a full season at 12 episodes until proven otherwise.
The reason seasons had been extended before was that it allowed them to work without changing the contract. If you look at Catfish which is also an MTV/Paramount reality show, it had a season with about 100 episodes that spanned the pandemic.
While doing some press for the show in 2023, Taffer said that he and the network had a 3-year plan in place.
There is another clue that this could be the end, but I don’t want to write it here.
My feeling is that Jon may be just waiting on a new deal. Worth noting that the ratings are down 90% compared to peak, and that’s without competing against Sunday night football. They have announced new seasons before after episodes for it had already been filmed, so the timing of everything can be variable.
I’m not sure how having 300+ episodes is any better for the network rerun system compared to 280, but maybe they are pretty cheap and can go on forever.
I will say that the locations feel more and more away from the main metropolitan areas. Could be that they are running out of places willing to film.
At a minimum, it will be 2027 before it’s on again.
What’s with the mixologist that looks like the lost Ramone sister?
honestly I had 0 faith they’d still be open. between Edward’s lack of ownership and they had no $ left it was only a matter of time. I can’t believe jon actually told them to sell the bar as option 1. I dont think he’s EVER said that before i was shocked.
Finally got around to watching this.
2 brand new “experts,” one who looks like a teenager (who apparently is on some other show–if you Google her, you get a lawsuit) and one who dresses like a JK Rowling library by day/punk rocker at night.
People use 2 tins to shake all the time, nothing wrong with that.
No way this guy was a cyber security professional. If so, switching out of the tech industry to buy a crappy bar in what appears to be a middle/upper class area is terrible decision. This is a disgusting dive, and people have good reason to drive half an hour to Atlanta to get what they want.
I think the staff has a misunderstanding of what inventory means.
Everyone gets water first. Owner wants to help, so he makes people water. Hilarious.
There is a guy with an afro walking around the kitchen in sweats with no apron or head cover. WTF?
Bartender walking around with a holey jean jacket. This place is horrific. I’m glad it’s closed.
There is no small business that loses $25k a month and stays open for more than one month.
Mojito with 8 ingredients? Yeah, that’s gonna work, lol.
Jon tells them to sell, probably the smartest advice ever given on the show. No way they can afford to bring in an experienced manager when they are already in the hole.
Sad way to end the season/show.
Owner: “If we can’t turn things around, we’ll have to close by the middle of June.”
Bartender: “I had no idea we’d be closing in two weeks.”
Jon: “Option 2 is to get a manager who knows how to do things.”
PJ: “Six weeks later: The owners are thinking about going with option 2.”
Closed? ++shocked Pikachu face++
