Blu Rose Bar Rescue

Episode Recap

The Blu Rose Art Bistro / The Blue Rose Bar was a Douglasville, Georgia bar that was featured on Season 10 of Bar Rescue.

Though the Blu Rose Bar Rescue episode aired in March 2026, the actual filming and visit from Bar Rescue took place before that in May 2025.

It was Season 10 Episode 5 and the episode name was “A Palette of Problems”.

In this episode, Bar Rescue is back in Georgia for the second time this season, and the sixth time overall.

More specifically, the show is in Douglasville, GA, which is located just a bit to the west of Atlanta proper.

Blu Rose experts

Taffer is in town to rescue a bar named Blu Rose Art Bistro.

Note – that’s not a typo. It’s not “Blue Rose Art Bistro” – it’s just “Blu”.

He also has Anthony Lamas along as his culinary expert, as well as a mixologist as usual.

As you’d expect from the name, the bar features a built-in art studio and gallery, along with Southern comfort cuisine.

To get a feel for the bar, Taffer sends in two spies while he and his experts observe everything from outside.

Blu Rose spies on Bar Rescue

They order two drinks – an island rum punch and the Blu Rose margarita.

The owner takes their order, but doesn’t know if the bar has mescal.

The two spies also order food – fried green tomatoes and a catfish platter.

While Taffer watches what’s going on in the kitchen, he sees some issues.

For example, raw shrimp just sitting in a big bowl of flour, which contaminates all the flour.

Shrimp issue

That means the chef has to dump all the rest of the flour (or at least should dump the flour).

However, the chef ends up using that same flour for the fried green tomatoes, which creates cross-contamination.

For example, someone with a shellfish allergy could be in trouble if they get food from the shrimp-soaked flour.

The chef also ends up using the same flour for the fish – it’s just a big cross-contamination party!

The bartender seems to at least have some technique.

For example, he actually measures the alcohol that he puts into the drink, which will surely make Taffer happy.

While the presentation on the drinks looks pretty good, the taste doesn’t match, with the Blu Rose margarita being described as “very sour Kool-Aid”.

Before the spies can eat the food, Taffer rushes in to SHUT IT DOWN because the cross-contamination is GOING TO KILL SOMEBODY.

Jon Taffer shuts down Blu Rose Art Bistro on Bar Rescue

As always, I’m writing this the day before the episode airs on TV, so I don’t have any more detailed information to recap the episode.

However, I was able to figure out the new name of the bar from doing some research.

As part of the renovations, Jon Taffer very slightly changed the name from Blue Rose Art Bistro to Blu Rose Art Bar.

Honestly, I don’t really consider that a change, but it is technically a bit different.

So – was the Blu Rose Bar Rescue visit a long-term success?

Keep reading my update to learn what happened next and if this Douglasville, Georgia bar is still open in 2026 and beyond.

Blu Rose Art Bar Update - What Happened Next?

Now that I’ve recapped the episode, let’s talk about how Blu Rose Art Bar is doing after Jon Taffer and his crew left Georgia.

I’ll start by talking about whether or not the bar is still open and using the concept from Jon Taffer.

Then, I’ll take a look at some real customer reviews from after the episode.

Along the way, I’ll share any other interesting details that I’m able to uncover, such as how the bar owners felt about the Bar Rescue experience.

Let’s get into it…

Is Blue Rose Art Bar still open after Bar Rescue?

As of my most recent check, the bar is still open and serving customers in Douglasville, GA.

Because the names of the bar were so similar, I can’t tell whether or not they’ve kept Taffer’s name.

The bar does still use the old Blu Rose Art Bistro name/image on most of its online profiles, but I don’t really think that’s an issue.

They’re very active on social media, posting lots of events and specials.

To start, the bar hosted a Bar Rescue watch party when its episode aired, which is always a positive sign for how the owners felt about the rescue.

They also have a Friday event called “Dine & Dance Fridays”, which includes line dancing and drink specials.

Blu Rose Dine and Dance

As an art gallery, they also still host lots of art events and such.

Beyond art, they also seem to host poetry events and such.

They also have karaoke events on Wednesdays, which they call “Sip, Sing, Slay”.

There’s also an official Blu Rose Art Bar website, which includes more details about the bar.

Here’s a link to the menu, and I’ve also included a screenshot of part of the menu below to give you an idea of prices and stuff.

Here’s what the Blu Rose Art Bar location looks like in the most recent picture from Google Maps street view…

The image is from March 2024, so it doesn’t show the Bar Rescue changes. However, it does give you a feel for the bar’s location.

Blu Rose Art Bar reviews after Bar Rescue

As usual, I like to look at real customer reviews of the bar to get a feel for how customers feel about the changes from the show.

Overall, the bar has a 4.3 star rating on Google on over 1,035 reviews.

On Yelp, they have a 4.0 star rating on over 181 reviews.

However, both of those numbers include reviews from both before and after Taffer’s rescue.

When only looking at new reviews, they seem to still be mixed, unfortunately.

I see some positive reviews, but also some 3 star and 1 star reviews.

For example, here’s a screenshot of the six most recent Google reviews at the time that I’m writing this. Those reviews included:

  1. Three 5 star reviews
  2. One 3 star review
  3. Two 1 star reviews

Blu Rose Art BIstro review

That’s a pretty good representation of what I’m seeing for the bar.

I’m honestly not sure what to make of it.

It seems like a very inconsistent experience for customers, despite the changes and processes that Taffer would have recommended.

A lot of the complaints seem to revolve around service at the bar, which isn’t a great sign.

Behind-the-scenes footage of the episode

In a bit of a unique event, the bar actually posted some behind-the-scenes footage of the rescue happening.

Honestly, I didn’t think they were allowed to post this footage before the show aired, but they did.

It shows the crew working on the renovations and stuff.

Unfortunately, Facebook won’t let me embed the actual video in this post, but here’s the direct link to it if you want to check it out yourself.

Final thoughts on the episode

Overall, the bar seems to be doing pretty well so far.

It’s very active on social media and seems to have lots of events and engagement.

While they seem to still be using the original Blu Rose Art Bistro name, I don’t really consider that rejecting Taffer’s concept because the names are so similar.

However, reviews for the bar seem to still be mixed, so I will need to keep an eye on this one going forward.

That wraps up my Blu Rose Art Bar Rescue update.

  1. “One of Keven’s wrestlers,” lol. Is he her manager or something? At least she told Jon to be nice.

Riddle me this–I get the shellfish allergy thinking, but is there really any worry of bacterial contamination when the food is going into the fryer?
