Episode Recap
Calendars Pizzeria & Sports Bar, later renamed to Terri’s Italian Kitchen & Bar, was a Macclenny, Florida bar that was featured on Season 9 of Bar Rescue.
Though the Terri’s Italian Kitchen Bar Rescue episode aired in April 2025, the actual filming and visit from Bar Rescue took place before that in December 2023.
It was Season 9 Episode 32 and the episode name was “Calendar’s Crisis”.
In this episode, the Bar Rescue crew is back in Florida.
I say “Bar Rescue crew” and not Jon Taffer because, unfortunately, Jon Taffer is not the lead in this episode.
However, all is not lost, because Danny Trejo will be leading the rescue, which marks his third time on the show.
He was also part of rescuing The Wagon Wheel and Uncle Albert’s Pub in the first set of Season 9.
If you’re not familiar with Danny, he’s a famous actor (remember the guy’s head on the turtle in Breaking Bad?) who also owns some restaurants and bars.
If Jon Taffer can’t be there, Danny is one of the better replacements in my opinion.
This time, Danny is in Macclenny Florida to rescue a restaurant/bar named Calendar’s Pizzeria.
Because this episode was filmed in December 2023, I believe that it was actually filmed during the first set of Season 9 episodes that aired in 2024, despite it airing as part of the second set in 2025.
Calendar’s Pizzeria has a long history in Macclenny Florida, having been originally opened all the way back around 2005.
This means it’s been around for almost two decades at the time of Danny’s visit.
The bar is currently owned by Terri Faudree, a name which will become important later in the episode (spoiler alert!).
To recon the bar, Danny sends a pair of spies.
One of them gets the special strawberry daiquri, while the other asks if they can make him a Negroni (a pretty standard drink).
However, when the waitresses talk, none of them know how to make a Negroni, so they end up having to look it up on Google.
At least the waitress was honest that they might have to look it up? Points for that I guess.
Eventually, the waitress tells the spy that they don’t have the ingredients, so he switches to a margarita.
Both the drinks come in plastic cups, which is pretty lame in my opinion.
In addition to the drinks, the spies also order food, including mozzarella sticks and a sandwich.
One super weird thing is that the sandwiches are named after the day’s of the week.
While that makes sense from the name (Calendar’s Pizzeria), it’s a bit confusing for customers because they might think that each sandwich is only available on the day that it’s named after.
As always, I’m writing this a day before the episode airs on TV, so that’s it for my recap of the episode.
However, I do know what Danny did in terms of the bar’s concept.
He seems to have switched the bar’s name from Calendars Pizzeria & Sports Bar to Terri’s Italian Kitchen & Bar.
Note – it’s spelled with an “i” – it’s not Terry’s Italian Kitchen and Bar.
Obviously, the name change is inspired by the current owner.
So – was the Calendar’s Pizzeria Bar Rescue episode a long-term success?
Keep reading my update to learn what happened next and if this Macclenny Florida bar is still open in 2025.
Terri's Italian Kitchen & Bar Update - What Happened Next?
Now that I’ve recapped the visit from Danny Trejo and his crew, let’s talk about how the bar is doing after the Bar Rescue crew left Macclenny Florida.
I’ll start by talking about whether or not the bar is still open and using the name from the show.
Then, I’ll take a look at reviews from after Danny’s visit and share any other interesting details that I can find.
Let’s get into it…
Is Terri’s Italian Kitchen still open after Bar Rescue?
As of my most recent check, Terri’s Italian Kitchen is still open and serving customers in Macclenny Florida.
What’s more, they seem to have mostly stuck with the new Terri’s Italian Kitchen and Bar concept from the show.
I do still see a lot of places where the bar uses the Calendar’s Pizzeria name, but looking at recent pictures of the inside and staff uniforms seems to show them using Terri’s still.
For example, even though the bar’s name on Facebook and other online profiles is still Calendar’s Pizzeria, this picture from the day before the episode aired still shows the Terri’s name behind the bar and on the waitresses uniform.
However, I’ve also found some recent posts that refer to it as Calendars still.
For example, here’s a post from February 2025 that still uses Calendars on the flyer:
It’s also a bit weird that the bar hasn’t updated the name on Facebook or Google, despite it being more than a year since the change.
Despite that, the bar is very active on its Facebook page, regularly posting about lots of events and specials at the bar.
First off, they seem to have regular Bingo events at the bar.
They also seem to have karaoke on the same nights as Bingo, which sounds like a fun time.
There are also some other interesting things I found, such as occasional pool tournaments.
They even have live music sometimes, which is pretty cool.
Beyond that, they also post about lots of food and drink specials.
However, one thing that I did not see is any posts about the Bar Rescue episode.
I wonder if they weren’t as excited because there was such a long delay between when it was filmed (December 2023) and when it aired on TV (April 2025).
The bar also has its own basic website that includes some information.
However, it still uses the old Calendars Pizzeria name, which is a bit confusing.
Here’s a screenshot of part of the menu to give you an idea of the prices – it’s pretty dang cheap!
Here’s what the bar looks like in the most recent picture from Google Maps street view…
The Google Maps picture hasn’t been updated since April 2022 so it doesn’t include any Bar Rescue changes.
I’m mainly just including it so that you can explore the area around the bar.
Terri’s Italian Kitchen reviews after Bar Rescue
Next, let’s take a look at some reviews of the bar from after the rescue.
As I mentioned earlier, both the Google listing and Yelp page still use the Calendar’s Pizzeria name, despite them seeming to have kept the Terri’s Italian Kitchen concept.
This is a bit confusing, but people don’t seem to be having issues as they’re still leaving recent reviews.
Overall, the bar has a 4.2 star rating on 375+ Google reviews and a 3.1 star rating on 37+ Yelp reviews.
However, both of those numbers include reviews from both before and after the Bar Rescue visit.
As always, I try to exclusively focus on reviews from after the episode was filmed (December 2023) so that we can see how things have changed.
Looking at those recent reviews, they seem to still be pretty mixed.
There are lots of positive reviews…but also lots of negative ones.
Things just seem inconsistent in general.
Some people praise the service, while others complain about it.
Some people like the food, while others criticize it.
All in all, it’s hard to get a picture of how/if things have improved just from reading the reviews.
Here’s a sampling of a few positive and negative reviews that I found from after the visit from Danny Trejo…

Final thoughts on the episode
Overall, this is a bit of a weird one because there’s such a long gap between the filming and the episode airing on TV (almost 17 months).
Despite that, the bar seems to still be open and doing well.
Though they still have the Calendar’s Pizzeria name up in a lot of places, they seem to be still be mostly using the Terri’s Italian Kitchen name from the show, as that’s what’s on the staff’s uniforms.
The bar also has lots of events going on, which seems like a good sign.
However, reviews for the bar are a bit mixed, so I will need to keep an eye on things to see how it goes.
That wraps up my Calendars Bar Rescue update.

Danny is kind of a softee relative to the other imposters, but I like watching him because he is genuine. He was firm but kind, and no fake Jon/Spike hug at the end for the camera.
Pickle pizza? Eww… Jen’s sandwich looked good, though.
I have no idea why they held this episode, but I guess they had to hold a few over. Maybe the better question is why did they film extra episodes in the first set.
I would bet that Danny needed more help than typical, and it could be that they needed more time to edit this one. He seems to struggle when listing off who gave them the free stuff at the end.
Also odd that they made Danny tag team with Phil after he appears to have done this episode himself first.
There’s a typo, bar first opened in “2005” not “2025”
Good catch – I just fixed it. Thanks!
