Episode Recap
Hurricane Creek Saloon, later renamed to Neon Rodeo, was a Melbourne, Florida bar that was featured on Season 10 of Bar Rescue.
Though the Neon Rodeo Bar Rescue episode aired in March 2026, the actual filming and visit from Bar Rescue took place before that in April 2025.
It was Season 10 Episode 7 and the episode name was “Flush the Slush”.
In this episode, Jon Taffer and his crew are back in Florida rescuing another bar.
Florida is one of the most popular states for the show to visit by a good margin.
This will mark the show’s 37th visit to Florida, which puts it only behind California as the most visited state in the show.
This time, Taffer is in Melbourne – Melbourne, FL, not Australia (though that would be a fun episode if he rescued a bar in Australia).
He’s in town to rescue a bar named Hurricane Creek Saloon.
To recon the bar, Jon Taffer sends in Kylie Blakely, a former Miss Florida (three times), along with her friend Monica.
When the duo gets to the bar, they order some drinks – a watermelon crawler and a redneck girl.
The redneck girl is supposedly an “award-winning drink”.
They also order some food – a grilled cheese and a burger.
They also tried to order a pizza, but it was out of stock somehow.
When they get the drinks, they’re not huge fans of it.
Then, they get a bunch of free samples from the bar’s frozen daiquiri machine, which are given to them by the owner.
While all of this is happening, the experts notice lots of little operational and food issues.
For example, it’s weird that the owner didn’t restock the frozen daiquiri machine earlier, and that he didn’t get a bartender to do it.
The chef also dang near cuts off his thumb when cutting the grilled cheese.
The spies also don’t like their food, saying that it’s too greasy and looks like frozen chicken.
The oil is literally dripping off the sandwich, which probably isn’t what a Miss Florida wants to eat.
It’s so bad that they ask the owner to send the food back.
As always, I write these posts the day before the episode airs on TV, so I don’t have a more detailed recap.
However, my research has helped me discover the new concept that Taffer put in at the bar.
As part of the renovations, he changed the bar’s name from Hurricane Creek Saloon to Neon Rodeo: A Country Party Bar.
Honestly, I kind of hate the name…but maybe you guys like it more than me.
To me, it really doesn’t fit the vibe of the bar. If you disagree, let me know in the comments section.
So – was the Hurricane Creek Saloon Bar Rescue visit a long-term success?
Keep reading my update to learn what happened next and if this Melbourne, FL bar is still open in 2026 and beyond.
Neon Rodeo Update - What Happened Next?
Now, let’s talk about how the bar is doing after Jon Taffer and his crew left Melbourne, FL.
I’ll start by talking about whether or not Neon Rodeo is still open and using the concept from Jon Taffer.
Then, I’ll share some real customer reviews of the bar to give you a feel for how people like the renovations.
Along the way, I’ll also share any other interesting information that I can turn up.
Let’s get into it…
Is Neon Rodeo still open after Bar Rescue?
As of my most recent check, the bar is still open and serving customers in Melbourne, Florida.
However, they are not doing it using Taffer’s concept, as the bar seems to have quickly ditched the new Neon Rodeo name shortly after Bar Rescue left.
They have not gone back to the original Hurricane Creek Saloon branding, either.
Instead, the bar is currently operating as The Creek: A Country Party Bar.
The bar posted about making the name change on May 29, 2025.
Here’s a direct link to the post. I’ve also screenshotted the full post and quoted some of the relevant parts below.
We did not pick the “N R” name … and while there is nothing wrong with it.
Honestly we felt this venue needed a Name that reflects more “who we are” the “history of this area” plus “where we and I came from”.
So, it seems like they have kept the Bar Rescue tagline (“A Country Party Bar”), even though they got rid of the main Neon Rodeo branding.
They also still use the original Hurricane Creek Saloon name on some online places.
What do you think? Personally, I actually like “The Creek” more than “Neon Rodeo”, so I don’t have a big issue with this.
If you disagree, let me know in the comments.
The bar seems to be pretty active on social media.
They regularly post lots of events and specials at the bar.
One big event seems to be line dancing, which they have a lot.
The bar also gives free line dance lessons every day from Wednesday to Saturday, which I guess is cool if you’re into line dancing.
The bar also has an official website, which still uses the old Hurricane Creek Saloon branding.
Honestly, the website is pretty bad, but the mere fact that they do have a website is better than a lot of bars on the show.
Here’s a link to The Creek’s menu – I also took a screenshot of part of the menu below to give you an idea of the prices.
Here’s what the bar’s Melbourne, FL location looks like in the most recent picture from Google Maps street view.
The image hasn’t been updated since 2023, so it still shows the old Hurricane Creek sign.
I’m mainly including it so that you can explore the area around the bar.
Shooting outside Neon Rodeo after the rescue
Perhaps another reason to consider changing the bar’s name is that there was a shooting outside the bar shortly after the rescue, which caused a lot of negative press.
A college football player was shot by a former college basketball player, which got on the national news (including the NY Post).
Here’s a link to a local publication and I’ve quoted some of the relevant portion below:
Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire near the recently refurbished Neon Rodeo bar and other nightspots.
Officers found Jennings unresponsive.
He was later pronounced dead.
Maybe this had nothing to do with the name change. But I could see it being another factor, in addition to what they discussed in the Facebook post above.
Neon Rodeo reviews after Bar Rescue
Next, let’s take a look at some real customer reviews for the bar from after Taffer’s visit.
Because the bar didn’t keep the Neon Rodeo name, it’s kind of hard to get a feel for how it would have done with Taffer’s concept.
However, even if the name is different, it still has the renovations and operating improvements that Taffer put in.
As always, I try to exclusively look at customer reviews that were written after the time of the rescue.
Overall, the bar has a 4.4-star rating on 311+ Google reviews, but just a 3.6-star rating on 33+ Yelp reviews.
The Google rating includes reviews from both before and after the rescue, but pretty much all of the Yelp reviews were written before Taffer visited the bar.
Let’s zero-in on the newer reviews on Google.
In general, I would say that those reviews are mostly positive, but there are still a decent number of negative reviews mixed in.
The positive reviews seem to focus on the prices and the service.
However, one negative reviewer says that nothing has really changed at the bar after Taffer’s rescue.
Final thoughts on the episode
Overall, the bar seems to be doing ok after Taffer’s rescue.
However, they have not kept the new Neon Rodeo name that Taffer put in.
Instead, they’ve gone back to a hybrid of the names, using “The Creek: A Country Party Bar” on signage.
Reviews seem to be mostly positive, but still a bit mixed.
I will be sure to update this post if anything changes in the future.
That wraps up my Neon Rodeo Bar Rescue update.

Hours published on the Internet are not accurate. It’s variably open on Sundays.
This is in downtown Melbourne only a few blocks away from the location of Bar Refuge. Bar Refuge is the place that the owners of Piratz set up after they left Maryland. Bar Refuge closed several years ago, but the place that’s in there now has some great food.
